Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy massage is relaxing and welcome treat for an expectant mum, who will welcome the opportunity to feel pampered before the birth of her baby. It’s a wonderful way to ease an aching back, stiff shoulders and sore hips, as well as lift her mood by releasing feel-good pain-relieving endorphins into her system, leaving her relaxed and refreshed.

What happens during a pregnancy massage?

Prior to your massage, it is recommended that you consult your midwife about having a massage. It not recommended to have a massage in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.

When you arrive, your therapist will carry out a full consultation with you. It’s important to give as much detail as possible. Your therapist will then explain the treatment to you and discuss any areas you would like to be treated or, avoided for any reason. Depending on where you are in your pregnancy, will depend on how you lie on the couch. Throughout the treatment you will supported with soft pillows and covered with towels to keep you warm and comfortable. The massage couch will be heated and calming music playing to give an added level of relaxation.
